Online Research and Content Intern (Human Rights)

Teachers Without Borders is a 501(c)3 international nonprofit organization working to advance the quality of human welfare through teacher professional development on a global scale.


Teachers Without Borders (TWB) is looking for a Research and Content Intern to work closely with the Program Director to help develop a new teacher professional development course on Human Rights Education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Researching, cataloguing, and summarizing online resources on Human Rights Education and related topics, including current events.
• Requesting permission from authors/publishers to use materials in a TWB resource.
• Identifying/contacting relevant organizations for potential partnerships.
• Working with TWB members and volunteers to collect, catalogue, and vet member-submitted resources.
• Regular communication with Program Director.
• Writing blog entries highlighting selected resources.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent online research and web search skills.
• Report writing/preparation and synthesis of research data.
• Strong understanding of Open Educational Resources and Creative Commons licensing.
• Proficiency in using online collaboration tools (wikis), social bookmarking tools (delicious, Diigo), and social networking.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work on a flexible schedule.
• Well-developed organization skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable and self-motivated.

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
• Proficiency in French or Spanish
