VA: Program Assistant: R&P Program

STATUS: Exempt, Full Time

U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a nongovernmental, not-for-profit national organization dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of refugees and immigrants, is seeking a Program Assistant: R&P Program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the R&P Processing Unit Program Officer, the Program Assistant will be responsible for the collection, review, and submission of reports from USCRI network agencies participating in the State Department Reception & Placement program. He/She will maintain and disseminate records (paper and digital) related to reception and placement, including filing, data entry, and working with USCRI network agencies and the Refugee Processing Center (RPC) to assure accuracy and timeliness of reports. The Program Assistant will recommend modification of the R&P database, as needed, to most effectively process R&P data. Additionally, the Program Assistant will be required to monitor and report on trends related to the collected data. The Program Assistant will also serve as a training resource on all aspects of reception and placement reporting and data processing for the USCRI network. Other job duties may be assigned by the R&P Program Officer.

REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking a candidate with strong computer skills who can demonstrate proficiency in Excel and Access. Experience with Access – based databases is essential. He/She should be able to multi- task and prioritize daily activities to meet competing deadlines. The successful candidate should be detail oriented and able to produce and maintain basic statistical reports. Good telephone skills and the ability to write instructions clearly in English is necessary.
