Teaching and Curriculum Development
* Teach ESL courses at ERI's EarthRights Schools (ERS) based in Thailand, developing different courses for different level students.
* Teach human rights report writing and research courses, developing or adjusting curriculum, as necessary.
* Oversee current affairs reading comprehension sessions on request.
* Gather and organize resources and teaching aides relevant to ERS course areas.
* Manage a centralized collection of currriculum and lesson plans/learning strategies.
Student Mentoring
* Serve as advisor for students on their year-long report writing.
* Counsel and/or advice students outside of class, depending on their individual needs and concerns.
Organizational/Administrative Duties
* Work closely with teaching assistant as well as other coordinators in teaching, curriculum development, and assessment of students' needs and supervision of live-in environment.
* Write reports on activities and participate in staff and project meetings as required.
* Other duties as directed
Additional Qualifications:
Selection Criteria
* Lesson planning and curriculum development expertise required
* Minimum of 2 years experience in human rights education
* Familiarity with a variety of subjects, including human rights, conflict resolution, the environment, law, government, women's rights, corporate accountability, and the international political system
* Teaching experience with non-native English speakers using experiential, student-centered learning methods
* Knowledgable of the human rights and environmental challenges currently facing Burma and the Mekong region
* Experience living and working in a multi-cultural setting
