DC: Advocacy Days Coordinator

The East Timor and Indonesia Action Network is seeking a temporary coordinator for its 2008 Advocacy Days to take place in Washington, DC April 13 -15. This position is largely part-time, with near full time work from April 9 -23. Pay is $20 an hour

Tasks include:

***coordinating outreach and publicity,

***volunteer recruitment

***scheduling congressional meetings for activists

***packet preparation (i.e. leave-behind materials for congressional meetings as well as activist packets)

***setting up housing for out-of-town activists with local activists

***coordinating a day of advocacy training for activists

***carrying out immediate follow-up post-Advocacy Days.

The Advocacy Days coordinator will work closely with ETAN's National Coordinator and a committee of ETAN activists.

Successful applicant will preferably be based in DC, fairly flexible about hours - including ability to work during the day, and extremely persistent on phone. Washington experience is a plus.
