You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of grantfunded projects, seeking new funding opportunities, developing projects for grant proposals, and cultivating and managing relationships with trusts and foundations. Your role will also involve mentoring and training in grants fundraising techniques for Amnesty International’s (AI) fundraisers around the world – requiring international travel. With substantial experience of grant fundraising you’ll also have good project management skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to the aims of AI.

Researcher (Zimbabwe focus)
Salary: £29,826
The Africa Program at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International is seeking to appoint dynamic person to fill the role of Researcher. As a Researcher you will be required to conduct and co-ordinate research activities.
Proven research skills, impartial political judgement, excellent communication skills coupled with strong strategic thought and an open and result oriented approach to your work are essential. Specialist knowledge of Zimbabwe as well as expertise in one or several areas of human rights work relevant to Africa would be an asset. You must have first hand experience of the region and awareness and understanding of its cultures. Relevant languages would be well regarded.

Researcher (DRC focus)

Fixed Term Contract to 30 July 2008
You will be required to conduct and co-ordinate research activities, take a lead in developing, implementing and communicating a research programme of human rights work including thematic areas. You will have proven research skills and knowledge of Central Africa, and in particular the Democratic Republic of Congo.
You will be a dynamic and team oriented person with first hand experience of the region with awareness and understanding of its cultures.
Essential criteria for this role includes; knowledge of Central Africa, impartial political judgement, excellent communication skills (including a good working knowledge of French), strong strategic thought and an open and result oriented approach to your work.

Senior Research & Policy Adviser
Salary: £35,100

Working in a newly formed Research Support Unit, you will provide advice on research standards, methodology and research management, developing policy and guidelines, monitoring their implementation, and developing and delivering research training, including on field missions and report-writing. You will be experienced in carrying out and managing research, with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Research Support Unit Director
Salary: £40,229
12 Months Fixed Term Contract
As Director of this newly formed unit, you will maintain an overview of AI’s global research agenda, supervising the development of research guidelines and training and the application of research standards. You will also play a key role in coordinating research work at the International Secretariat with that of AI’s chapters. You will have substantial experience of human rights research and research management, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, with substantial experience of drafting and editing.
