About the Coalition for the International Criminal Court:
The Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) was established in 1995 and has co-Secretariat offices in New York and The Hague. The Coalition is a global network of more than two thousand civil society organizations working to ensure that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is fair, effective and independent. Our Steering Committee is comprised of 14 well-known human rights organizations from around the world.
The ICC is the world’s first permanent court responsible for prosecuting the most serious violations of international humanitarian law, namely genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The Coalition seeks an Information Services Coordinator to assist in the writing, management and production of all English-language print and electronic resources, and to monitor developments related to the ICC in the English-language media.
Under the overall supervision of the Program Director and direct supervision of the Head of Communications, the Coordinator will work in collaboration with other members of the Communications Sections and other sections as relevant, to advance the Coalition’s campaign goals of facilitating the exchange of documentation and information concerning the ICC, and promoting awareness of the ICC worldwide, including at relevant public and professional international conferences.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Writing and researching English-language updates on the work of both the Court and the Coalition for distribution to a wide ranging audience that includes member organizations, diplomats, members of the media, students, human rights advocates and experts in international humanitarian law;
• Seeking and providing documents and information on the ICC in English for all English-speaking members; and creating new English-language resources as needed;
• Coordinating the translation of key updates into French, Spanish and other languages as needed;
• Monitoring and analyzing ICC-related media developments on a daily basis;
• Preparing summaries of news articles for distribution on e-mail lists;
• Moderating and managing English-language listserv on the ICC;
• Monitoring news developments related to the Court’s three current cases in Darfur, Sudan; Northern Uganda; and the Democratic Republic of Congo;
• Working closely with other departments and other Communications staff to develop and update factsheets, briefing papers and web-based articles on the work of the Coalition Secretariat and the Court for both educational and advocacy purposes;
• Working closely with the Head of Information and Communications on research projects, media advocacy and the implementation and development of key departmental strategies;
• Coordinating the production of The Monitor, the Coalition’s flagship publication that features news and views about ICC-related developments;
• Responding to information requests from students, CICC members and others;
• Tracking the development of English-language books and films on the ICC;
• Tracking events related to the ICC worldwide;
• Determining ways to promote the Coalition at events around the world, and ensuring the distribution of English-language resources to relevant events and organizations;
• Supervising Communications intern;
• Establishing efficient systems for the completion of Communications Section’s administrative needs.

Additional Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Journalism or other relevant field;
• Excellent oral and written English-language skills;
• Proficiency in French or Spanish an asset;
• At least two years of relevant experience;
• Deep understanding of international human rights issues;
• Solid research and analytical skills;
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and HTML an asset.
