Global Rights
International Human Rights Day Dinner
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2006
THE CAPITAL HILTON, WASHINGTON, DC
6 PM TO 9:30 PM
In 2001, Global Rights played a central role in the United Nations World Conference on Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance held in Durban, South Africa. Then came September 11th.
Five years later, we explore the impact of continuing worldwide efforts to combat racism amidst the new context created by the so-called war on terror. With new forms of intolerance on the rise, where do we go from here?
Come hear a live-interview panel discussion on contemporary struggles against racism worldwide led by premiere journalist and Global Rights Board Member Judy Woodruff.
Please join Salih Booker, our new executive director, for an engaging evening of thought-provoking conversation, cultural celebration and a special tribute to David Carliner, one of Global Rights’ earliest human rights advocates.
Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please contact Tara Edwards, director of major gifts, to become a sponsor or for general event information at (202) 822-4600, x117 or TaraE@globalrights.org.
