Campaigners Americas 4 Full-time and 1 Part-time (21hours) posts

Amnesty International needs a campaigner for its Americas Program to help develop strategies and actions to mobilize the organization's worldwide membership to campaign effectively against human rights violations. You will act as a focal point to provide advice to membership on actions, and develop campaigning materials for them. You must have knowledge of the Americas region, including the Caribbean. You must also have campaigning experience, an interest in human rights, sensitivity to the cultures and peoples of the region, effective writing and communication skills and an understanding of membership organizations. You must have fluent English and Spanish, and French would also be an advantage.

International Capacity Building Coordinator (IMP/06/04)


The International Mobilization Programme (IMP) of the International Secretariat (IS) of Amnesty International (AI) is seeking an International Capacity Building Coordinator to develop a coordinated approach to capacity building for the movement. The post holder will work with colleagues who carry out this work to develop an operational plan for the IS for the facilitation of capacity building for AI membership bodies (sections, structures, groups and networks) and participate actively in the design and development of the new IMP. Primary tasks include; taking leadership for developing a collective approach for movement-wide capacity building in close consultation with other IS programmes, sections and structures, non-governmental organizations and individuals with experience in the field; coordinating the development of an integrated IS programme of capacity-building for the movement; coordinating the development of capacity building standards and best practice with other IS programmes and the movement; managing and developing of materials for organizational capacity building, ensuring best practice standards; identifying and developing movement wide opportunities and mechanisms for exchange of best practice in the field and developing a user-friendly system for information on world-wide capacity building resources.
