London: Coordinator - Human Rights Defenders (Americas)

In North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, human rights activists face a number of difficulties, even dangers, when involved in promoting and defending human rights. Amnesty International is seeking a dynamic and experienced researcher with proven project management skills to co-ordinate its Americas Program for human rights activists at risk. The successful candidate will be a creative strategic thinker and will have experience of having worked in the field, preferably in Latin America, with a variety of non-governmental organizations working for human rights. Experience in devising political and practical campaigns to support activists at risk as well as proven writing and communication skills are essential for this post.

Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish, any additional knowledge of Portuguese or French desirable
