Since 1994, the American Anti-Slavery Group (AASG – http://www.iAbolish.org) has been working to abolish modern-day slavery and human trafficking, focusing primarily on systems of chattel slavery in Sudan and Mauritania. We partner with former victims of trafficking and slavery to raise awareness of the plight of an estimated 27 million men, women, and children are currently enslaved around the world and advocate for their freedom through education, advocacy, and grassroots activism. Our tightly knit staff of employees and interns is headquartered in Boston, MA, but our reach is far wider thanks to our many associates and 30,000 members around the world.
