For the last several years China has responded to the US State Department Human Rights report on China - which is usually quite condenatory of human rights violations in China - by issuing its own report on human rights violations in the US. This year's report takes on the issue of poverty, racial discrimination and violent crime in the US, but also tackles illegal detentions, secret snooping and prisoner abuse.
